Benetton Group launches 300 million Euro bond

Ponzano, July 17th 2002 - The Benetton Group launched today a 300 million euro FRN.

The bond, arranged by Caboto IntesaBci, Mediobanca, MCC and Schroder Salomon Smith Barney, is being placed with institutional and individual investors in the principal financial markets.

The purpose of the issue, which replaces a maturing bond of similar amount, is to maintain the balance between the groups sources of finance, i.e. bank finance and bond.
