TOMMASO BRUSO’ TAKING ON CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER POSITION

Chairman Francesco Gori given mandate over core staff.
Decisions effective after the Shareholders' meeting called for 16 May 2017.

 
Ponzano Veneto, 5 April 2017 - Benetton Group announces that a meeting of the Board of Directors was held today during which the Board accepted the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Marco Airoldi, effective from 16 May 2017 annual Shareholders' meeting.
 
In the course of today's meeting, the Board also approved the appointment of Tommaso Bruso’ as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and granted the Chairman, Francesco Gori, power over core staff matters.
 
The Shareholders' meeting, convened for 16 May 2017, will also be called upon to confirm the appointment of James McArthur - already co-opted onto the board on 3 March - as non-executive director.
 
The Board of Directors expressed its thanks to Marco Airoldi, who since 2013 - first as a consultant then as CEO and Managing Director - has contributed to the definition and subsequent launch of the company refocus and relaunch plan which targets a selection of markets, stores and the Benetton Group brands.
 
Tommaso Bruso’ will bring to Benetton Group's operations his experience in the international fashion industry, combined with a strong knowledge of Italian entrepreneurship. Having started his career at Benetton Group, first in Italy and then in the US, the new COO went on to hold the position of CEO for North America at Fedon, Furla and Diesel, the position he currently holds.
