Benetton and Inditex (Zara) end their Agreement for Italy.

The experience has been considered positive by both companies

Ponzano, January 29, 1999 - The Benetton Group and The Inditex Group (Zara) have decided to end their co-operation. The aim of the agreement, as communicated in March 1997, was to establish a joint venture for the distribution of the Zara brand in Italy through a chain of owned shops.

As established in the agreement, this co-operation would continue until January, 1999 and its continuation would depend on the number of openings achieved in the period.

The decision to end the agreement was taken mutually by the two companies, which will continue their activities independently.
