JAMES MCARTHUR JOINS
BENETTON GROUP BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Ponzano Veneto, 3 March 2017 - The Benetton Group Board of Directors, which met today under the chairmanship of Francesco Gori, has appointed James McArthur to the Board. Mr McArthur brings to the Board extensive international experience in the field of fashion, luxury and retail.
 
James McArthur has previously served as CEO of a number of notable retail and luxury businesses including Harrods, Balenciaga and Anya Hindmarch. He was instrumental in the launch and development of the Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen fashion businesses within Gucci Group, where he was Group Executive Vice President from 2000-2007. Mr McArthur also led the strategic development of Gucci Group through the acquisition of a number of businesses, including Bottega Veneta and Boucheron.
 
Mr McArthur has recently been nominated to the Board of Directors of Destsky Mir, the fast-growing Russian retail group that has around 25% share of the market for childrens’ products in the Russian Federation.
