A key part of Benetton Group’s sustainability strategy is based on acting locally. For this reason the group is strengthening its commitment to support the communities in the countries in which it operates. As part of these efforts, we continue to be at the forefront of a proactive engagement with Bangladesh in order to find lasting solutions to the problems facing the country’s garment industry. In this context, we announce our contribution to the Rana Plaza Trust Fund. The contribution is part of the second phase of our support program for the victims of the Rana Plaza collapse, a program that started with our partnership with BRAC immediately after the tragedy in 2013. As part of another important Bangladesh-focused initiative, Benetton was also among the first signatories of the Accord on Fire and Building Safety in Bangladesh, which is creating tangible improvements in working conditions and safety in the country’s RMG supply chain.
